Sal Iacono, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” writer and Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin shared a personal and professional update on the late night host, saying “everything’s going to be just fine” in the midst of his ABC suspension, but more “bombshells” could be on the way.

“I wish I could say anything. There are a couple bombshells still there,” Iacono said in an interview with ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast‘” Sunday night, adding that more news regarding Kimmel’s situation may make headlines this week.

On Sept. 17, ABC suspended Kimmel after remarks he made about conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on Sept. 10. Since then, the late night host’s return to the network has been put on hold, with with affiliate owner Sinclair stating that a suspension is “not enough” and that an apology from the host, along with donations to Kirk’s Turning Point organization and his family, should be part of any comeback deal.

Nevertheless, Iacono says that Kimmel will be OK no matter what the outcome is.

“He’ll be fine, whatever he wants to do,” Iacono said, adding that Kimmel could even do a complete pivot out of the industry.

“Hey listen, he might just want to be a pop-up chef and start making barbecue around the South Bay area,” Iacono. “He’ll do a great job.”

As far as the show’s future, Iacono shared that he’s unable to disclose any further details, as he wants to protect the show’s cast and crew.

“That’s all I have to say right now. I can’t really say anything,” Iacono said. “You and I know too much. It’s very emotional.”
