Kris Jenner has admitted that she still has difficulty referring to Caitlyn Jenner, her ex-spouse, as Caitlyn.
“I say ‘Jenner,’” Kris said in an interview with “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush. She went on to say that Caitlyn’s transition has proven more difficult than she imagined.
“It’s hard, you know. It’s really, really hard,” Kris said. “What I have realized in all of this is that everyone handles stuff a different way. No matter what it is, you know. We’re all people. We all have different emotions.”
“I just thought she would be a little bit different,” she continued. “Bruce had a distinct personality and, you know, had definite characteristics. And Caitlyn has some different ones, I feel.”
Kris did say that she and Caitlyn have been getting to know each other slowly, however. Bush then asked if they could ever be friends and “curl up on the couch” together.
“I don’t know about curl up on the couch, but she came over for a drink last night,” Kris said. “And that was nice.”
Kris and Bruce Jenner were married in 1991 and separated in 2013. In June 2015, Bruce appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair, officially adopting the name Caitlyn.
