Former pro baseball player John Rocker has found a new career: Reality TV contestant.
Atlanta Braves vet Rocker is among the castaways who will compete on the upcoming 29th episode of CBS’s reality competition “Survivor,” which returns Sept. 24 with a 90-minute premiere.

If the show’s producers were looking for a contestant to draw controversy, they could have done worse than Rocker. In addition to his baseball career, Rocker made headlines with a Sports Illustrated interview, during which he spewed bigoted comments about homosexuals and foreigners. It’s also worth noting that this season’s batch of castaways include a same-sex couple, in the form of Broadway performer Reed Kelly and singer/actor Josh Canfield.

Rocker will be teamed up with his girlfriend, model/spray tan business owner Julie McGee.
