The Ted Cruz presidential campaign was caught with its pants down when it was discovered an actress cast in a recent ad has had a long career as a softcore porn actress.

The ad, entitled “Conservatives Anonymous,” shows a support group sitting in a circle discussing how various conservative candidates have failed them. After a thinly veiled attack on Marco Rubio by one member of the group, a blonde woman chimes in, “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time.”

That woman is actress Amy Lindsay, who has appeared in such films as “Kinky Sex Club,” “Bikini Airways,” and “Timegate: Tales of the Saddle Tramps” according to her IMDB page.

To be fair, Lindsay has appeared in more mainstream fare as well, including an appearance in a 2001 episode of “Star Trek: Voyager” and the 2000 Disney Channel movie (seriously) “Stepsister from Planet Weird.”

After learning of her full filmography, the Cruz campaign responded by pulling the ad. Lindsay expressed her disappointment with the decision on Twitter, writing, “Extremely disappointed the #TedCruz campaign pulled the national television spot I had a role in.”

The Cruz campaign claims they had no idea of Lindsay’s past work when she was hired to do the ad. “The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job,” a Cruz spokesman told BuzzFeed News. “Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad.”

Cruz pulled off a major upset in the Iowa caucuses when he defeated Donald Trump, despite what some, including Trump, would classify as questionable campaign tactics. Most recently, Cruz came in third in the New Hampshire primary behind Ohio governor John Kasich and Trump.
