TNT Announces Summer Slate

Includes two new dramas and the network’s first foray into reality shows.

TNT announced its summer slate on Wednesday, which includes new seasons of the popular "The Closer," "Saving Grace" and Raising the Bar," two new dramas as well as the network’s first foray into unscripted programming. The new schedule will launch June 8.

 

The fresh programming includes executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s police drama "Dark Blue," starring Golden Globe winner Dylan McDermott (pictured at left). The series follows an undercover team of police officers led by McDermott and fellow cops played by Logan Marshall-Green ("The O.C."), Omari Hardwick (TNT’s "Saved") and Nicki Aycox ("Supernatural").

 

Jada Pinkett Smith (pictured below) will star in the medical drama "Hawthorne," in which she plays a Chief Nursing Officer heading up a group of nurses. Pinkett Smith will star alongside Michael Vartan ("Alias"), who plays the oncologist who serves as the director of medicine for the hospital. 

 

The network will also air its first reality program, "Wedding Day," which helps deserving couples plan their weddings with the aid of celebrity event planner and food expert Alan Dunn ("For Better or Worse") and celebrity wedding producer and designer Diann Valentine (author of "Weddings Valentine Style").

 

Golden Globe winner Kyra Sedgwick will lead crime drama "The Closer" in its fifth season, Steven Bochco’s legal drama "Raising the Bar" and "Leverage" with Timothy Hutton will enter their second seasons and Holly Hunter starts its third season.
