Walmart's same-day delivery will require a $10 surchage but no minimum purchase

Walmart is attempting to one-up Amazon in the instant gratification game by offering same-day delivery.

It will require a $10 surcharge, but no minimum order is required.

The move is seen as a shot across the bow to Amazon and an attempt by Walmart to corner the market on e-commerce just as it dominates the big box industry. Amazon already offers same-day delivery in a handful of major metropolitan areas.

Shares of Walmart rose .59 percent to $75.83 in early morning trading.
