President Trump took to Twitter to rip the media, thank his haters and mock former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta before a brief encounter with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
Trump and Putin were captured shaking hands early Friday and the world leaders are scheduled for a meeting later in the day in Hamburg, Germany. Before the encounter, Trump fired off several tweets touching on a broad range of topic.
Many are hoping Trump will bring up the investigation in Russia’s suspected election interference during the meeting, but he claims “everyone” is talking about Clinton’s campaign chairman. Trump called Podesta “disgraceful” during the Twitter session.
Podesta, who does not work for the DNC, had several private emails land on WikiLeaks during the campaign. The president also wrote, “I will represent our country well and fight for its interests! Fake News Media will never cover me accurately but who cares!”
The president wrote that he has “much to discuss” with Putin. The highly anticipated meeting is among the key moments of Trump’s presidency so far. Check out what was on his mind before meeting the Russian president:
