‘X Factor’ Judge Jumble: Cheryl Cole Out, Nicole Scherzinger In

Former Girls Aloud singer’s thick British accent reportedly lost her the job

Apparently, Cheryl Cole doesn't have that certain something that it takes to judge "The X Factor" in America.

TMZ reports that the former Girls Aloud chanteuse — and judge on England's "The X Factor" — has been axed from the upcoming American version of the show.

Cole will reportedly be replaced by former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who was originally tapped to co-host the series with Steve Jones.

The other "X Factor" judges for the upcoming American version include series creator Simon Cowell, who's importing the show from England; former Island Def Jam Music Group head Antonio "L.A." Reid; and Paula Abdul, who's reuniting with Cowell following their stint together on "American Idol."

So why was Cole shown the door? Sources tell TMZ that producers worried that her accent was too thick for an American audience — and that she had a "lack of chemistry" with Abdul.

Producers for the British "X Factor" are reportedly attempting to woo Cole back across the pond. But according to sources she feels so burned by the bait-and-switch that she's considering abandoning the show altogether.

Cole signed on for the American "Factor" in May, after much speculation.

Calls to Fox and producers Fremantle Media were not immediately returned to TheWrap.
