“Dancing With the Stars” contestant Alek Skarlatos offered his support for fellow Paris train attack hero Spencer Stone while his friend recovered from a stabbing early Thursday morning at a bar in Northern California.

“Spencer is one tough guy. And only he could have done something like that and lived, yet again,” the Army National Guardsman tweeted, after asking: “Everybody send prayers out to the Stone family today.”

Details of the incident remain unclear, but Stone was transported to UC Davis Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the chest. The Sacramento Police Department said in a post on its Facebook page that the incident occurred around 12:46 a.m. in downtown Sacramento.

Surveillance video shows 30 seconds of high drama and raw violence, and what started with a few punches thrown on a dark street corner quickly spilled into the street. Five or six people are seen in the middle of it all pushing, shoving and trading blows.

Stone, who is stationed at nearby Travis Air Force Base, walked away from the brawl despite being stabbed four times in the chest.

His father, Brian Stone, later told People: “He’s out of surgery and doing well. He’s been upgraded so no longer critical and it looks like he’s going to be okay. All I can say is that this world is not short of idiots.”

Officials believe the assault incident is not related to a terrorist act and alcohol is considered to be a factor.

On Aug. 22, Stone, along with Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sacramento State University, helped to disarm a gunman who opened fire on a train traveling from the Amsterdam to Paris. The suspect, Ayoub El-Khazzani, 25, was carrying 270 bullets for his assault rifle and a bottle of petrol.

The Moroccan’s phone showed that he had watched a jihadist video shortly before launching the attack, and prosecutors have filed formal charges against him. Sadler, Stone and Skarlatos have since been awarded medals for their bravery.
