Fox Buys Ian Shorr’s Sci-Fi Spec Script ‘Capsule’ (Exclusive)

Matthias Hoene is attached to direct the movie, which is being produced by Hutch Parker and John Zaozirny

"Cristo" screenwriter Ian Shorr has sold his sci-fi spec script "Capsule" to 20th Century Fox.

Matthias Hoene is attached to direct the film, which Hutch Parker (pictured at left) is producing with John Zaozirny.

Based on an original story by Hoene, "Capsule" follows a young man whose life is turned upside down when he begins to receive metallic capsules containing messages from his future self.

Aaron Ensweiler will spearhead development for Parker's production company Hutch Parker Entertainment, while Steve Asbell will supervise the project for Fox.

Shorr previously wrote "Cristo," a futuristic take on "The Count of Monte Cristo" that is set up at Warner Bros., and his next project, a thriller titled "The Operator," is about to start production with Jimmy Miller and Zaozirny producing.

Hoene most recently directed and produced the comedic horror film "Cockneys vs Zombies" for Studio Canal.

Parker recently produced James Mangold's "The Wolverine," which Fox will release in July.

Shorr is represented by UTA, Mosaic and attorney David Krintzman, while Hoene is repped by Gersh, Partizan and attorney Stephen Clark.

Zaozirny, who recently set up "Warden" at New Line, is represented by attorney Ryan Pastorek at Morris Yorn Barnes.
