’21 Jump Street’ Villain Rob Riggle Joins Fox Comedy ‘Let’s Be Cops’ (Exclusive)

Luke Greenfield is directing the movie, which stars Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr.

After finding himself on the wrong side of the law in "21 Jump Street," Rob Riggle is joining the police force himself. The actor's set to co-star in Luke Greenfield's comedy "Let's Be Cops," which will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Sitcom stars Jake Johnson ("New Girl") and Damon Wayans Jr. ("Happy Endings") play two best friends who decide to impersonate cops for kicks but find themselves in over their heads when they unknowingly mess with a real mobster.

Riggle will play a blue-collar cop who becomes a fan of the fake officers and offers to help them secure some high-tech surveillance equipment.

Nina Dobrev, James D'Arcy, Andy Garcia and Keegan Michael Key comprise the rest of the "Let's Be Cops" force.

Greenfield ("The Girl Next Door") wrote the script with Nick Thomas, and the director is also producing with Simon Kinberg of Genre Films.

Riggle has recently made regular appearances on ABC's "Modern Family" and previously played a tazer-toting cop in "The Hangover." He is repped by WME, Principato-Young Entertainment and attorney Warren Dern.
