ABC Family has renewed the reality series “Monica the Medium” for a second season.
Produced by Dave Caplan’s Trooper Entertainment and Lionsgate TV, the series follows Monica, a college student who also works as a medium who talks to dead people.
“Monica has changed lives for the better and given comfort and closure to family members while exploring her unique ability,” said Karey Burke, ABC Family’s EVP of Programming and Development in a statement. “She connects as well with our audience as she does with Spirit.”
“Together with our marvelous partners at ABC Family, we remain fascinated, charmed and proud of Monica, her friends and family as they continue to reveal both the everyday and the extraordinary moments of their lives with audiences,” said Jennifer O’Connell, Lionsgate Television’s EVP of Alternative Programming.
“As Lionsgate continues to build its presence in unscripted programming, this is one of the shows leading the way.”
Dave Caplan executive produces the series with Malachi McGlone.
“Monica the Medium” season finale airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
