Adam Shankman’s Offspring Entertainment Decamps to New Line

The company has been at Disney for eight years

Director-producer Adam Shankman and his sister, producer Jennifer Gibgot, are moving their appropriately named Offspring Entertainment from Disney to New Line, TheWrap has confirmed.

The company has sealed a nonexclusive first-look production deal with its "Rock of Ages" partner and will move its offices off the Disney lot.

"Rock of Ages," now in preproduction in Miami, is a New Line Cinema movie, and Offspring has a history with the studio: It was the production company on New Line's 2007 "Hairspray," which Shankman directed, the 2009 "17 Again" and the 2010 "Going the Distance."

Offspring has been at Disney since 2002. The company has several projects in development at the studio.

Variety first reported the news.
