Montreal-based Alliance Films has signed a first-look deal with producer Niv Fichman's Rhombus Media, the company announced on Wednesday.
The deal will utilize Alliance's distribution pipeline with the companies collaborating on all stages of production including development, casting, marketing and financing.
Alliance and Rhombus recently partnered on Jason Eisener's "Hobo With a Shotgun," which will debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
Alliance will release the film in Canada and the U.K. (via Momentum Pictures), while Magnolia Pictures' genre arm Magnet Releasing will distribute "Hobo" in the U.S.
TF1 is handling international sales of the picture.
Alliance has acquired several Sundance titles in advance of the festival, including Dito Montiel's "The Son of No One" for Canada and Spain (Aurum); Andre Odreval's "The Troll Hunter" for Canada and the U.K. (Momentum). John Martin McDonagh's "The Guard" for Canada and Rob Minkoff's "Flypaper" for Spain (Aurum).
