Andrew Hurwitz, a name partner at the New York law firm Schreck Rose Dapello Adams & Hurwitz, has joined the competing firm Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz as a partner in its entertainment group.
The independent film dealmaker is a 1988 graduate of Georgetown's law school had been with Schreck Rose since 2007.
Hurwitz's Schreck Rose colleague Alan Sacks also joined Frankfurt Kumit.
Recruiting Hurwitz and Sacks is a coup for Frankfurst Kurnit, especially with the Sundance Film Festival about to open.
Hurwitz is known as an expert in financing and distribution. His clients include writer/director Tom McCarthy ("Win Win"), executive producer Michael Cuesta ("Homeland"), writer Phil Johnston ("Cedar Rapids") and producer Gary Gilbert ("Margaret," "The Kids Are Alright").
