‘Ant-Man’ Wants to Call the Avengers to Save the World in New Trailer (Video)

The “Wet Hot American Summer” actor is hesitant to become a hero when there are plenty of them already in the Marvel cinematic universe

When an insect-sized bad guy threatens the world, who you gonna call? In a new “Ant-Man” trailer, star Paul Rudd wants to call the Avengers.

“I think our first move should be to call the Avengers,” Rudd’s character, Scott Lang, says in the new 60-second preview. “I know, it sounded ridiculous even as I said it.”

In this case, however, the Avengers are busy, so it’s up to him to don the hero suit instead and take on the challenge. Apparently, there’s room for a few little guys in the Marvel cinematic universe, too.

Rudd stars alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross (a.k.a. Yellowjacket), Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale and Jordi Mollà as Castillo.

“Ant-Man” opens in 3D on July 17.
