Arnold Schwarzenegger was beaming with pride when he posed with his son Joseph Baena at Oktoberfest over the weekend, where “The Terminator” star celebrated the teenager’s 19th birthday.
“Happy birthday, Joseph. Great student, great athlete. I’m proud of you and I love you,” Schwarzenegger wrote on Instagram with a picture of the two toasting giant mugs of beer in Munich, Germany.
This is not the first time Schwarzenegger and Baena have been spotted hanging out together, but it is the first time the new “Apprentice” host has posted a picture with his boy on Instagram since joining the social media platform in 2012.
Joseph Baena was born after Schwarzenegger had an affair with his former housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, while he was married to Maria Shriver. Mildred worked for the Schwarzenegger family for 20 years and told UK tabloid Hello! magazine in 2011 that Shriver was one of the first people to notice the resemblance between her son and Schwarzenegger.
“Maria would ask if I needed to talk to her, and I kept saying no. Finally, she asked point blank. Maria asked me directly if Joseph was Arnold’s son, and I just broke down,” Mildred said. “I dropped to my knees and I was crying, saying that yes he was and I was so sorry.”
The revelation caused a media frenzy and put a lot of stress on the Schwarzenegger family in 2011, but it appears that Baena and his father are happily moving forward with their lives. In April of this year, Schwarzenegger was spotted helping the teen train at the Gold’s Gym in Venice, California, where the former Mr. Olympia has been training for years.
