‘Assassin’s Creed’ Trailer Puts Michael Fassbender in Harm’s Way (Video)

Movie based on video game will premiere on Dec. 21

The new “Assassin’s Creed” trailer is all about the action.

Based on the best-selling video game franchise, Michael Fassbender stars as Callum Lynch. After a mysterious organization fakes his death, Lynch is forced to unlock his genetic memories, allowing him to experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.

Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Charlotte Rampling, Michael K. Willaims, and Khalid Abdalla . Justin Kurzel directed, while Michael Lesslie, Adam Cooper, and Bill Collage wrote the screenplay.

Jean-Julien Baronnet, Gérard Guillemot, Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley, Fassbender, Conor McCaughan, and Arnon Milchan serve as producers. New Regency, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, DMC Films and Kennedy/Marshall produced. 20th Century Fox will distribute the film theatrically.

“Assassin’s Creed” will debut in theaters on Dec. 21.
