‘Baby Shark’ Swims Onto the Billboard Hit 100 List

Infectious children’s song came in three slots below Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow”

Welp, it finally happened: “Baby Shark” doo doo doo doo doo doo’d itself onto the Billboard Hot 100 list.

This week, the infectious children’s song recorded by South Korean educational brand Pinkfong — which has racked up more than 2.1-billion views on YouTube since November 2016 — swam into the No. 32 spot on the charts.

That makes it the “Highest Ranking Debut” on this edition of the list, according to Billboard.

For reference, the earworm is just three notches behind Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” anthem, “Shallow,” and right above Ellie Goulding and Diplo’s “Close to Me” (featuring Swae Lee).

So, yes, Baby, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa Shark are in pretty good company on the chart.

Back in September, James Corden enlisted “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner and singer-actor Josh Groban to perform the grandest version ever of the hugely popular kids’ song. A gospel choir eventually joined the over-the-top (and classy) performance. Check that out here.

Watch the video above (if you dare). Our apologies in advance for getting it stuck in your head all day.
