BAFTA Los Angeles Honoring Kathryn Bigelow, Ben Kingsley at Britannia Awards

Pair joins George Clooney as honorees

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Los Angeles will honor Kathryn Bigelow and Ben Kingsley at its Britannia Awards next November.

Getty ImagesThe Britannia Awards celebrate the accomplishments of men and women in the entertainment industry. 

Bigelow, the Oscar-winning director behind "The Hurt Locker" and "Zero Dark Thirty," will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing.

Getty ImagesKingsley, best known for his work in "Gandhi" and "Sexy Beast," will be honored with the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment.

“Sir Ben is a true icon of our industry, with a proven ability to captivate filmgoers around the world with his daring and powerful performances, and Kathryn is a tremendously talented and versatile director whose work consistently challenges and entertains, no matter the genre or subject matter," BAFTA Los Angeles Chairman Gary Dartnall said in a statement.

They join previously announced honoree George Clooney, who will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. Additional honorees will be announced in the coming weeks.
