Chris O’Donnell has finally answered the burning question of whether or not Robin was gay when he played Batman’s sidekick in “Batman & Robin.”

O’Donnell appeared on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on Thursday night when a caller asked him about the sexuality of Robin, a.k.a Dick Grayson, after George Clooney said in a 2006 interview with Barbara Walters that he played the Caped Crusader as a gay man.

“Then I screwed up, because I played him straight,” O’Donnell said. “So clearly that was the mistake with ‘Batman & Robin.’ I mean, the nipples, the codpiece, what was gay about it? I don’t understand.”

O’Donnell played Robin twice, first in “Batman Forever” alongside Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne, and then again in “Batman & Robin,” which is notorious for the negative reception it received from fans and critics.
