‘Beauty and the Beast’ First Look Tease Cogsworth, Lumiere, Gaston (Photos)

Live-action remake of Disney classic will premiere in theaters on March 17

New images from the live action “Beauty and the Beast” movie give fans of the classic Disney tale their first look at Lumiere, Cogsworth, Gaston and Le Fou.

The images (below) were posted on Facebook by the film’s co-producer Jack Morrissey. The first, which features the talking clock and candelabra, was posted with the caveat, “These designs are close but may not be final.” Ewan McGregor will play Cogsworth while Ian McKellen will play Lumiere.

The second is a tavern scene that features the villainous Gaston and his lackey Le Fou. “Here’s a moment of b-roll from a take on the Gaston musical number, with (l. to. r.) Alexis Loizon – Official as Stanley, Josh Gad as LeFou, and Luke Evans as Gaston,” Morrissey wrote.

This marks the first significant look at the computer-generated characters in the film, as the first teaser featured none of them and only a single brief shot of Emma Watson at the end.

Disney’s live-action remake follows Belle (Watson) as she sacrifices herself to save her father by going to live at the home of the Beast (Dan Stevens). But over time she learns that he was once a dashing prince, cursed to look like a monster and that only true love can break the spell.

“Beauty and the Beast” is scheduled to premiere on March 17, 2017.
