‘Black Mirror’ Season 3 Trailer Teases Tech Horrors in Our Own Homes (Video)

New entry in anthology series debuts on Oct. 21 on Netflix

The first “Black Mirror” Season 3 trailer introduces you to the dark side of gaming, social media and all kinds of other modern conveniences that we take for granted.

The new season of the anthology series will feature six new stories from series creator Charlie Brooker: “Nosedive,” “Playtest,” “Shut up and Dance,” “San Junipero,” “Men Against Fire,” and “Hated in the Nation” in that order.

Created and written by Brooker, “Black Mirror” features stand-alone episodes that explore themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. The series has been recognized with an international Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, a Rose D’Or and been nominated for a BAFTA award.

The third season features an all star cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, James Norton, Cherry Jones, Wyatt Russell, Alex Lawther, Jerome Flynn, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby, Kelly McDonald, Faye Marsay and others.

Joe WrightDan Trachtenberg, James Watkins, Owen Harris, Jacob Verbruggen and James Hawes direct. Rashida Jones and Michael Schur served as writers on “Nosedive.” Annabel Jones serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Brooker.

The series originally aired on Channel 4 in the U.K. After the first two seasons aired, Netflix ordered a third season of 12 episodes, but later decided to split it up into two six-episode seasons.

“Black Mirror” Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on Oct. 21.
