‘Blackfish’ Clip Accuses SeaWorld of Lying for Years (Video)

SeaWorld may have some explaining to do

While SeaWorld employees will tell guests that Orcas live longer under their care, one man featured in the new documentary "Blackfish" says otherwise.

"Since Orcas in their pools die young, they like to say that all Orcas die at 25 or 30 years. And of course that's false," the unidentified anti-captivity activist explains. "We knew by 1980, after a half a dozen years of research, that they live equivalent to human lifespans."

"Blackfish," a documentary directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, traces the 39-year history of killers whales in captivity in order to investigate why Tilikum, a 12,000 pound Orca living in captivity at SeaWorld, killed a trainer in 2010.
