Blake Shelton Thinks Benedict Cumberbatch Is a Nonsense Phrase (Video)

“SNL” host and musical guest proves terrible at lip reading in Jimmy Fallon’s “Whisper Challenge” on “The Tonight Show”

Blake Shelton agreed to play a new game on “The Tonight Show” Thursday night, but the upcoming “Saturday Night Live” host and musical guest seemed disappointed that Jimmy Fallon wasn’t keeping score.

“It’s fun,” Fallon said of “The Whisper Challenge.” “Everyone’s having a good time. Have fun for once.”

The game is pretty simple. Shelton puts on a pair of headphones playing loud music. Fallon then says a phrase while looking directly at him. Shelton has to guess what he’s saying. After one correct guess, they switch roles.

Of course, the game might have gone smoother had Fallon not been laughing while trying to say “pumpkin spice latte.”

That’s no excuse for “The Voice” coach to think he said, “My pee-pee’s stretched out,” though

“This is the stupidest thing, literally, I have ever been a part of in my entire career,” Shelton declared halfway through the game.

He followed this up by thinking Benedict Cumberbatch was a combination of nonsense words, having never heard of the Oscar-nominated actor. It didn’t get better from there.
