Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard Battle Nazis in First ‘Allied’ Trailer (Video)

World War II drama premieres on Nov. 23

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard go behind enemy lines in the first trailer for “Allied.”

Pitt plays U.S. intelligence officer Max Vatan, who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

Pitt has played roles in such World War II period pieces multiple times in the last few years. Most recently, he played a tank commander in David Ayer‘s “Fury.” In 2009, he starred as Lt. Aldo “The Apache” Raine in Quentin Tarantino‘s Oscar-winner “Inglourious Basterds.”

This film is directed by Robert Zemeckis based on the screenplay by Steven Knight. Knight is also an executive producer on the project, along with Patrick McCormick, Denis O’Sullivan and Jack Rapke. Zemeckis is also a producer along with Graham King.

“Allied” will premiere in theaters on Nov. 23.
