Season 6 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” ended with a bitter brawl between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams during the taping of the reunion special, and the fight made Moore take a three month vacation to Europe in order to consider returning to the hit Bravo reality show.
“At some point, I was trying to figure out, do I want to come back to the show? Do I want to subject myself to people that can’t control themselves?” Moore said during TheWrap’s latest installment of “Drinking with the Stars” (above).
“I know what I signed up for, but if I’m being put in a position where my life is in danger or my safety is in danger, that’s not what I signed up for,” Moore continued. “There was a lot of conversations and reflections, and at the end of it, I think I got the answers that I needed and I was OK.”
The show returns to television on Sunday at 8 p.m., and Moore described this season as one of her favorites.
“I’m back to business,” Moore said. “I am in a position where I’m creating a television pilot for myself. I’m going back to producing — what I do best — and acting, and being the life of the party. Nothing more than truly shining. I just appreciate this season so much more.”
Expect Moore to bond with Cynthia Bailey and newcomer Claudia Jordan, as well as Kandi Burruss, but her relationships with NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks are as rocky as ever.
“We started off as friends, I don’t know why NeNe wants to constantly fight,” Moore said. “I’ve spent Thanksgiving at her house, we’ve talked on the phone hundreds of times, we’ve cried to each other, so we were certainly friends. I just think that with NeNe it’s more about her insecurities that prevent her from actually being friends with her, because of my position on the show.”
