Popular right-leaning sites Breitbart.com and The Drudge Report both went offline at about 3:30 p.m. eastern time on Tuesday, as several other sites and apps hosted on Google Cloud Platform went down.
“The issue affecting some of our Google Cloud Platform services should be resolved for all of our users as of 12:48 p.m pacific,” a Google spokesperson told TheWrap.
Breitbart and Drudge were up and running again within about 30 minutes of going offline. Other major apps impacted by GCP going down included Spotify and Snapchat, which tweeted it was working “on the fix” with its partner at 3:43 p.m. ET.
Many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app as well as our support site ???? We're working with a partner on the fix! In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in ????
The Drudge Report, as well as Breitbart, did not acknowledge the brief downtime on their Twitter feeds.
