Bryan Singer Tweets Beastly Photo of ‘X-Men’ Star Nicholas Hoult

Beast gets an adult makeover following his furry transformation in "X-Men: First Class"

Bryan Singer gave his Twitter followers the first glimpse of the new and improved Beast, an "X-Men: Days of Future Past" character played by Nicholas Hoult.

"Many a monster wears the form of a man; it is better of the two to have the heart of a man & the form of a monster," Singer tweeted on Friday with the picture attached.

The insightful quote comes from Jeanne Marie Le Prince de Beaumont's "Beauty and the Beast" story, published in 1756. Singer's third installment in Fox's "X-Men" franchise is currently in production and hits theaters on July 18, 2014.

Kelsey Grammer previously played the furry blue mutant — whose civilian name is Hank McCoy — in Brett Ratner's "X-Men: The Last Stand," but Hoult portrayed a younger version in the 2011 prequel, "X-Men: First Class."
