CAA has hired literary agent David Larabell from the David Black Agency, one of the top agencies for nonfiction writers in the country. Larabell worked at Black’s shop for the past nine years, six of them as an agent.
He represented best-selling authors Joe McGinniss, John U. Bacon, Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman. He will not be bringing them with him to CAA. McGinniss, now deceased, wrote the Sarah Palin book “The Rogue” as well as “The Selling of the President 1968.” Longman has been a sports reporter at the New York Times since 1993.

Larabell will work in CAA’s books department, finding publishing opportunities for the agency’s non-author clients. That list is endless, as CAA represents thousands of actors, directors, producers, athletes, musicians and more who may decide to write a book.
He is based in CAA’s New York office.
