Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, not only posed for her first Vanity Fair cover, but she’s also joined Twitter for the first time.
“I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self,” read one of her first tweets. “Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”
In the first half hour since Jenner’s first tweet, the account @Caitlyn_Jenner racked up more than 75,000 followers and became a trending topic on social media.
The verified account was launched in conjunction with the release on Monday of Vanity Fair’s July issue cover, which featured the first photo of Jenner as a woman in a shoot by Annie Lebovitz.

During a recent “Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce” special, taped earlier this year, Jenner told stepdaughter Khloé Kardashian the plan to fully transition would happen “probably in the spring.”
Jenner’s new life as a woman will be chronicled in an eight-part docuseries premiering in July on E!
