Caitriona Balfe to Star in ‘Crush’ Opposite Lucas Till

EXCLUSIVE: The “Super 8” actress joins Camille Guaty, Reid Ewing, Crystal Reed and Sarah Bolger in Intrepid’s thriller

Caitriona Balfe has landed the lead role in "Crush," Intrepid's thriller also starring Lucas Till, TheWrap has learned.

Balfe, who starred as Elizabeth Lamb in J. J. Abrams' "Super 8" and is in Bryan Singer's web series "H+," plays Andie, who has a creepy — and deadly — crush on a high school soccer star. She is an Irish fashion model.

Till ("X-Men: First Class") plays the soccer star in the movie, which Malik Bader ("Street Thief") is directing.  Sonny Mallhi, a former executive at Vertigo Entertainment, wrote the script. Marc D. Evans and Trevor Macy are producing.

The movie also stars Camille Guaty ("Prison Break," "Las Vegas"), Sarah Bolger ("The Tudors"), Crystal Reed ("Crazy, Stupid, Love") and Reid Ewing ("Modern Family").

"Crush" starts principal photography in Los Angeles this week.
