Caroline Manzo on Teresa Giudice’s Jail Sentence: It’s So Much Bigger Than ‘Housewives,’ Bravo (Video)

“I can’t judge them and I won’t judge them because I don’t know what happened,” she tells Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live”

The cast of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” filmed their reunion Sunday afternoon, and Andy Cohen took to Twitter to defend his prison-bound star Teresa Giudice. Later that night, he spoke with her co-star Caroline Manzo about the Giudice sentencing on “Watch What Happens Live.”

“I’m blown away by the whole thing. It’s so much bigger than ‘Housewives,’ it’s so much bigger than Bravo,” Manzo said. “It’s just life changing for these two people and their children. … It is what it is and it happened. I can’t wrap my head around it. It’s a lot.”

Teresa Guidice was sentenced to 15 months in prison. Once she gets out, Joe will serve 41 months, and then could face deportation. It was out of consideration for their children that the judge staggered their sentences. Teresa is to surrender for her sentence on Monday, Jan. 5.

When Cohen asked Manzo if she wondered about Joe’s past, recalling a question from one of the initial meetings with Bravo when he asked if anyone had ever been indicted after doing the show, she called the question crazy.

“You can’t blame anything,” she said. “You can’t blame Bravo. You cannot blame anything for the things that happen in your life.”

She reiterated over and over again that her greatest concern was for the Giudice children, whose lives have been impacted so much by this.

I just hope that people, for the sake of the children, keep your opinion to yourself on social media and stuff like that and just understand that this is tragic. This is sad,” she said. “This is sad. I can’t judge them and I won’t judge them because I don’t know what happened”

Earlier that day, the Giudices showed up to tape “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reunion special. While TMZ reported that Teresa was four hours late, causing friction among the cast, Andy Cohen took to Twitter to both deny the claim and defend his embattled star.

“Nobody was late to the reunion, folks. Everybody was a pro,” he wrote. He described the reunion as “intense and emotional.”
