‘White House Down’ Trailer: Channing Tatum Saves ‘President Jamie Foxx’ (Video)

The first look of upcoming summer movie "White House Down" features Washington D.C. under a terrorist attack — and a little bit of Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum appears to be the only man left alive in the White House to protect President Jamie Foxx in the first look trailer for "White House Down."

Roland Emmerich ("Independence Day") directed the upcoming action flick from Columbia Pictures, which is a variation of FilmDistrict and Millenium Films' recent box office success "Olympus has Fallen."

Instead of Gerard Butler playing a disgraced Secret Service agent, Tatum stars as a Capitol police officer who happens to be touring the White House with his daughter when a paramilitary group, led by Jason Clarke ("Zero Dark Thirty"), invades.

While the trailer offers a few glimpses of Tatum and Foxx in action, it places emphasis on the grandiose scale of terrorism affecting the entire Washington D.C. area. Beginning with the collapse of the Capitol building, attacks are all caught on camera in a manner reminiscent of an actual tragedy that rocked America in 2001.
