Channing Tatum’s Ambition Intensifies in New ‘Foxcatcher’ Teaser (Video)

Bennett Miller’s “Moneyball” follow-up is another Oscar contender

Steve Carell is getting the lion’s share of buzz for his transformation into eccentric millionaire/murderer John du Pont, but the newest trailer for “Foxcatcher” focuses on Channing Tatum as Mark Schultz, the man whose autobiography inspired the film.

As Schultz, Tatum is a young and ambitious wrestler who wants only one thing: to win gold at every competition, but especially at the Olympics. Du Pont, a fan of the sport, offers up his state-of-the-art training facilities and imagines himself a sort of coach/mentor to the athlete and his brother, Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo), who’s more skeptical of the whole thing.

Considering how this whole thing turns out, Dave has reason to worry. But as the new trailer shows, Mark is a little bit blinded by his ambitions and takes his dedication to winning beyond reasonable means.

“Foxcatcher” premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released on November 14.
