Phil Lord and Chris Miller have sold a single-camera sitcom pilot script to ABC, which comes with what is being called a “significant” penalty. In other words, if the Disney broadcaster doesn’t make this thing, Lord & Miller still get a few hundred grand.

“We Can Do Better” hails from 20th Century Fox TV, and follows a soccer mom who “deals with her newly ‘Woke’ life in the south as a parent, wife, American citizen, and daughter of hardcore conservative parents,” per the studio.

Along for the ride as a non-writing executive producer is Seth Cohen. Liz Cackowski will actually run the Lord Miller show, should it be made.

Lord and Miller are the talented duo that made “The Last Man on Earth” with Will Forte. Cackowski was a writer and supervising producer on the Fox comedy; currently, she has a recurring role on ABC’s “Speechless.”

“We Can Do Better” is the first announced project from Lord and Miller since their abrupt firing as directors on the “Star Wars” spinoff about the galaxy far, far away’s young Harrison Ford-character, this time played by Alden Ehrenreich.

Cackowski is represented by UTA, 3 Arts and Ziffren Brittenham. Lord and Miller are also repped by UTA and Ziffren Brittenham.
