Common Joins Danny Glover in ‘L.U.V.’

The “Terminator Salvation” star plays an ex-con who tries to build an honest life for himself

Common, the "Terminator Salvation" and "Wanted" actor, will play an ex-con who tries to build an honest life, has joined the cast of Sheldon Candis's "L.U.V."

Production begins this week on the film, a day in the life of 13-year-old William "Woody" Watson, whose uncle, Vincent, is a father figure. When the uncle, played by Common, sets out live an honest life, Woody is torn.

Common recently finished filming New Line's "New Years Eve" and Disney's "The Odd Life of Timothy Green."

"L.U.V." also stars Dennis Haysbert ("24," "Jarhead"), Danny Glover (the "Lethal Weapon" franchise), Charles S. Dutton ("Fame"), Megan Good ("Jumping the Broom"), Michael K. Williams ("Boardwalk Empire"), Russell Hornsby ("Lincoln Heights"), Lonette McKee ("Malcolm X") and Tracey Heggins ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn").

The director and Justin Wilson wrote the script.

The movie is Candis's directorial debut and is a co-production of FilmForward Independent, Bijelonic/Turner Films and Stony Island Films. Jason M. Berman, Gordon Bijelonic, Michael Jenson, Joel Newton, Datari Turner, Common and Derek Dudley are producing.
