Conan O’Brien Drinks Sweet Wine and Dances Through the Streets of Cuba (Video)

The late-night host makes the most of shift in U.S.-Cuban diplomatic relations in preview of Wednesday’s show

Conan O’Brien just enjoyed the trip of a lifetime and everyone is invited to watch his vacation video.

The TBS late-night host recently took his show all the way to Cuba to make the most of the new relaxed restrictions on travel and trade.

As you can see from a preview of Wednesday night’s “Conan in Cuba,” he packed his party shoes for the trip and was determined to experience the colorful local culture to the fullest.

While he looks a little bit like a fish out of water when he first arrives on the Caribbean island, he soon slips into a white suit and bright green tie and gets his groove on.

Among O’Brien’s adventures are a boat ride with local kids as he tries to convince them “I am famous in America,” even pulling out an iPad to prove it. A shopping trip for sweet wine then gives Conan all the juice he needs for a dance lesson with a sexy Cuban girl.

No trip to Havana would be complete without a street festival, and O’Brien is joined by traditional stilt-walkers and a flamboyant street theater group for a congo show down the cobbles.

A U.S. talk show host hadn’t visited the Caribbean country’s shores since Jack Paar interviewed Fidel Castro in 1959, and O’Brien was the first American star to travel to Cuba since the diplomatic shift; however, several others have made waves for their travels to the island nation. Beyoncé and Jay Z caused quite  a stir in 2013 when they visited Cuba during their fifth anniversary trip. Likewise, director Steven Spielberg visited Cuba for four days in 2002, even meeting with then-President Fidel Castro.

“Conan in Cuba” airs on TBS on March 4 at 11 p.m.
