Conor McGregor Seeks Plea Deal in Bus-Attack Case

“I regret my actions that led to today,” fighter tells reporters after court hearing Thursday

UFC fighter Conor McGregor’s legal team is negotiating a plea deal with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office after McGregor was accused of attacking a bus in April, ESPN reports.

McGregor made a very brief appearance in court Thursday, telling reporters after his hearing, “I regret my actions that led to today. I understand the seriousness of this matter and I am hopeful this will get worked out.”

McGregor’s next court date is scheduled for July 26.

The fighter is facing 12 charges stemming from the incident, including two charges of misdemeanor assault and a charge of felony criminal mischief, according to ESPN. McGregor is accused of attacking a bus occupied by UFC athletes at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. McGregor was allegedly targeting UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov after Nurmagomedov confronted a teammate of McGregor’s.

UFC fighters Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were allegedly injured during the incident, according to ESPN.
