Season 23 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” said goodbye to its first pair of dancers on Tuesday.

After two routines, Jake T. Austin and partner Jenna Johnson were eliminated from the competition, becoming the first casualty of the ABC competition’s fall season.

“It was a blast. Learning from Jenna was the opportunity of a lifetime,” the actor said.

The two-hour results show opened with a look back at the dancers’ routines from last week’s premiere and Monday’s “TV Night”-themed dances, which had the couples performing to popular TV show theme songs.

On Tuesday night, Laurie Hernandez and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy were quickly revealed to be the first couple safe from elimination, which was unsurprising given their position as the highest-scoring couple of the season so far. They were soon joined by last-place finishers Rick Perry and partner Emma Slater.

Austin, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, “The Brady Bunch” star Maureen McCormick and model Amber Rose were the three celebrities in danger of elimination, with Austin and Johnson becoming the first couple eliminated based on a combination of judges’ scores and fan votes.

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC.
