David Copperfield Episode of ‘Strange Inheritance’ Shelved After Assault Accusation (Exclusive)

Show about Copperfield’s purchase of a mysterious brooch first aired before TheWrap’s report on the accusation

Fox Business Network will not be re-airing Monday’s episode of “Strange Inheritance” featuring David Copperfield because of a sexual assault accusation against the magician.

“The episode of ‘Strange Inheritance’ featuring David Copperfield has been shelved in light of the recent allegations against him,” a Fox Business spokesperson told TheWrap.

The episode had been scheduled to repeat on Fox Business News later this week, but now will not.

The network hyped the show before it first aired Monday — two days before TheWrap reported that former model Brittney Lewis accuses Copperfield of drugging and assaulting her in 1988, when she was 17.

Copperfield tweeted a statement Wednesday after TheWrap reached out to him about Lewis’ accusation, asking people not to “rush to judgment.”

The Copperfield episode of “Strange Inheritance” focused on a mysterious brooch that had supposedly belonged to Russia’s Czar Nicholas II and famed magician Harry Houdini. Copperfield bought it, and appeared front and center on the program, hosted by Jamie Colby.
