There's still sand left in the hourglass.
Daytime drama “Days of our Lives" has been picked up for two additional seasons, NBC announced on Monday.
Unlike other long-running and recently canceled sudsers such as "Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns," Monday's announcement means that the long running soap has avoided the chopping block.
"Days" is currently in its 45th season. The pickup will keep the show on the air through 2013.
Through six weeks of the 2010-11 season, “Days” is averaging 2.6 million viewers, NBC said.
