11. Blue Beetle
Warners is apparently developing a feature film centering on the popular DC Comics duo of Booster Gold and the Blue Beetle, and reports indicate that the movie will feature the Jaime Reyes version of the character.
Reyes became the bearer of the Blue Beetle legacy during the DC Comics event “Infinite Crisis” a decade ago, and later starred in his own title. Reyes possesses a suit of armor and extraordinary powers that both derive from an artifact known as The Scarab.
10. Metallo
One of Superman’s main adversaries in the comics for some time, Metallo would be a great addition to the DC cinematic universe. While he wouldn’t likely rise to the level of main villain in a Superman film, he could certainly be memorable as a henchman of Lex Luthor’s.
9. Doctor Fate
With Marvel dropping “Doctor Strange” later this year, DC can answer with its own super-powered sorcerer.
Doctor Fate uses the Amulet of Anubis, Cloak of Destiny and Helmet of Fate to fight chaos, potentially bringing some fantasy elements into the DC cinematic universe. In the comics, he has always been involved with teams like the Justice League.
8. Black Canary
One of the most well-known female Justice Leaguers, Black Canary is among the most gifted hand-to-hand combatants in DC Comics. But her skill as a world-class martial artist is augmented by her namesake ability to emit an ultrasonic scream attack from her vocal chords.
Black Canary is rumored to be featured in a “Birds of Prey” movie in development based on the female-led superhero team.
7. Hawkman
The Thanagarians were introduced in the “Man of Steel” prequel comic book, leaving many fanboys intrigued by possible appearance of Hawkman in the DC Films universe.
Hawkman is known for the use of ancient weaponry (mace, axe, sword, shield) and armor made from the special Nth metal that allows flight, as well as wings.
6. Martian Manhunter
J’onn J’onzz is an enormously popular character, especially with fans of the animated “Justice League” series from the early 2000s, often regarded as the heart and soul of the team. Martian Manhunter made an appearance in a recent episode of CBS’ hit series, “Supergirl.”
5. Reverse Flash
With the Rogues, the supervillain team facing off with the Flash in his upcoming film, fans are still holding out hope that we see Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. the Reverse Flash.
Eobard Thawne, is a time-traveling supervillain who draws his powers from the speed force like the Flash. Reverse Flash has comparable speed and power, but uses his powers for evil.
4. Red Hood
With Jason Todd’s Former Robin costume clearly visible in a scene from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” could Bruce Wayne’s former ward come back to life on screen as he did in the comics, as the Red Hood? He could be the DC Films version of Marvel’s “The Winter Soldier,” only a tad edgier.
3. Nightwing
Speaking of another of Bruce Wayne’s former wards, fans hope to see Dick Grayson on screen since, after all, Deathstroke is Nightwing’s greatest foe in the comics.
Seeing their shared history in the comics portrayed on the silver screen would be the greatest shot fans have at seeing one the Teen Titans in the DC cinematic universe.
2. Green Arrow
A very popular character with his own CW show now in it’s fifth season, fans still have hope to see Oliver Queen share the screen with Batman. Matt Damon is a popular choice among fans to inhabit the DC Films version of the character.
1. Braniac
The one villain fans most want to see Superman battle in the next “Man of Steel” sequel. The foundation was clearly set in the first film, which featured Kryptonian technology on the ship that brought Superman to earth, for Braniac to make a grand entrance in a future DC film.
