Drake has postponed his “Summer Sixteen” tour dates in Toronto, Philadelphia and Newark in light of his recent ankle injury.

The “Hotline Bling” artist said that he hated being told “no,” but under his doctor’s orders he had no other choice and apologized to his fans through a statement on his personal website.

“We are over 50 shows in and I have done everything to power through my recent ankle injury and leave it all out there on the stage every night,” wrote the 6 God. “I hate to be told I can’t do something, but under doctor’s orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support.”

Drake has been touring with Atlanta rapper Future since July when they kicked off their “Summer Sixteen” tour in Austin, TX. The duo have performed high energy shows almost every day since the start of their tour.

The “Views” rapper and Future have two performance dates scheduled for Newark, it is unclear which date he pushed back.

“I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I’m letting my fans in these cities down,” ended the rapper. “I promise–I will make it up to you.”
