Oops, did an Icelandic newspaper just accidentally kill Ed Sheeran?
The Morgunblaðið somehow confused the “Perfect” singer with an 82-year-old mechanic and published a photo of him alongside the obituary for Svavar Gunnari Sigurðsso, who died on Dec. 19, according to the paper.
Icelandic musician Ari Gudmundsson tweeted the picture out on Friday morning, which appeared in the paper’s print edition.
Morgunblaðið did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment, so we’re not sure if it was a mistake, or what the reasoning behind the placement was.
Maybe they really, really hated Sheeran’s “Game of Thrones” cameo last season …
Hate to break it to u but Ed Sheeran is dead. It also turns out he is a 82 year old Icelandic man called Svavar. Ed Sheeran was apperantly only his stage name…. #ripsvavarsheeran pic.twitter.com/gxXuccmU2h

Sheeran, for the record, is not dead (nor does he reside in Iceland). In fact, he recently announced that he and his longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn are engaged.
