Elaine Stritch Drops an F-Bomb On ‘Today Show’

The beloved veteran actress uttered the profanity live on the “Today” show Tuesday morning

Appearing on the “Today” show Tuesday morning, 89-year-old actress Elaine Stritch shocked hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford when she dropped an F-bomb — and it went unbleeped.

She was booked on the show to promote her new documentary “Shoot Me,” but producers had no idea how candid the octogenarian would be.

“You are so beloved — of course for your work, but as much for your mouth,” Gifford said. “You say whatever you want to say. When did that all happen?”

“And thank god it hasn’t been not passed on television,” Stritch replied. “If you just say things naturally, it’s fine — you know they just think and f*ck!”

“Oh dear!” Gifford exclaimed.

“They bleeped it!” assured Kotb, but the NBC censors were too late.

“The Today show is a live news program, without a tape delay,” Today spokesperson Megan Kopf explained. “However, we edited the audio and visual on our website and for all other time zones.”
