This isn’t Buzz Aldrin’s spacesuit.
Elon Musk — when he’s not working on getting the world off fossil fuels at Tesla — is working on getting humanity to Mars at SpaceX, his Los Angeles-based rocket company. And on Wednesday, he shared on his Instagram account a first look at their nifty new spacesuit.

“First picture of SpaceX spacesuit. More in days to follow. Worth noting that this actually works (not a mockup),” said Musk in the caption. “Already tested to double vacuum pressure. Was incredibly hard to balance esthetics [sic] and function. Easy to do either separately.”
As usual with most things Musk does, the internet went nuts. Some Twitter users enjoyed his attention to style in the suit.

Most people on Twitter were just hyped up about how cool it looked, though. As one mentioned, it looks like it was “something out of Daft Punk’s dressing room,” which is probably the best way to describe it.
