Beyonce, Eminem, Iggy Azalea Top MTV’s 2014 Video Music Awards Nominations

Jay Z, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Pharrell Williams are also among those with multiple noms

MTV revealed its 2014 Video Music Awards nominations via Snapchat on Thursday morning.

Beyonce, Eminem and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea topped the list of nominees.

Beyoncé leads the pack with eight nominations including “Video of the Year,” “Best Female” and “Best Choreography.”

Eminem scores multiple nods for categories including Best Hip-Hop, Best Male and Best Collaboration. Azalea will compete for several top awards including Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Pop.

Also in the mix with multiple noms were Jay Z, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Lorde, Sam Smith, Sia, Zedd, Avicii, Pitbull, Jason Derulo and Hayley Williams.

Competing for the event’s biggest award, “Video of the Year,” are Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX with “Fancy,” Beyoncé ft. Jay Z with “Drunk in Love,” “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, Sia’s “Chandelier” and Miley Cyrus with “Wrecking Ball.”

Beginning Tuesday, fans can vote in VMA categories, including “Video of the Year,” “Artist to Watch” and more by visiting vma.mtv.com. Additionally, fans can vote for “MTV Artist To Watch,” sponsored by Taco Bell, by texting the nominee’s name to 22444 (standard message and data rates apply).

Nominees for a new socially voted category, “Best Lyric Video” will be announced at a later date on vma.mtv.com.

The 2014 MTV VMAs will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 9/8c. Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer are confirmed to perform with additional talent being announced at a later date.
