Epic Pictures Group has hired John Short as vice president of International sales.
Short will oversee the company’s foreign sales business and introduce the company’s slate at March’s Filmart in Hong Kong before traveling to Cannes in May. He previously worked at Hyde Park Entertainment, where he worked on such projects as “Bernie” and ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.”
“John’s business acumen and extensive relationships with international buyers is a perfect complement to our team,” Epic Pictures principals Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson said in a statement.
In hiring someone to oversee foreign sales, Epic Pictures principals Patrick Ewald and Shaked Barenson can refocus their attention on financing and producing films. The company’s “Big Ass Spider!” will premiere at the South by South Film Festival March 11.
