EXCLUSIVE

Emmy-winning "30 Rock" star Tina Fey is in discussions to star in Universal's adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel "Admission," the actress' publicist has confirmed to TheWrap.

Paul Weitz is set to direct the film, which concerns an admissions officer at Princeton and her relationship with a prospective student who may not be Ivy League material.

The project is still in the formative stages of coming together and has not been greenlit yet, but Fey has read the book and met with Weitz about taking on the role.

Weitz is producing through his company, Depth of Field, along with Kerry Kohansky Roberts, while screenwriter Karen Croner adapted the novel.

Fey recently starred in "Date Night" and voiced one of the leads in DreamWorks Animation's "Megamind."

Fey is represented by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment.
